Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic struck, healthcare professionals are stressing on the importance of washing hands. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, unparalleled attention has been brought to the importance of hand washing for the prevention of disease. However, the pandemic also highlighted stark disparities in access to hand hygiene facilities — 3 out of 10 people worldwide were unable to wash their hands within their homes because they did not have access to a hand hygiene facility.
