BRIEF HISTORY:
The pond was built in 1992 by the government and all the villagers opened the pond together.
The old man of the village says that the goddesses were tested again that pond and the seven goddesses lit a fire in the wood and the goddesses walked in that a fire and in mandei puja, goddess walks in the water
SOCIO-RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE:
Near the pond is the temple of the village goddess ma bhandaruni .the temple celebrates the Nuakhai festival and the Dasahara festival. During the puja the water of the pond was used for drinking and cooking.
ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE:
The ponds highly dependent on the flow of water during drought and kharif cultivation.
What is the current condition? Any effort to clean up or rejuvenate the water body?
The reservoir is polluted and no effort has been made to clean or repair the reservoir.
