BRIEF HISTORY:
The pond was built by the zamidar of village in the year approximately 1988.
There was no pond in the area in that time, so the zamidar thought to built a pond for the interest of the society. There was a temple near to it of Lord SHIVA,named Mahadev temple. Hence the pond was named accordingly “Mahadev Pokhari”.
SOCIO-RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE:
The water body is having any social or religious significance for the local communities/people. There is a temple where they organize an yearly mela for some traditional rituals. Every year during makarsankranti there is a Festival organized by the people of the village, it is believed that it will bring prosperity for the village.
ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE:
People use this pond for fishing. Every year in the rainy season they used it for fishing,where the people of the village get benefited and used that amount for the welfare of the village.

The pond is now in drastic condition. Every year in summer season almost the water dries out. It is polluted completely chemically and biologically. There is a Primary Hospital established by Govt near to it. So all the medical waste was disposed in that pond only, so it completely polluted now chemically and biologically. It is neither in the condition of drinking nor in the condition of regular use.

- Sustainability Prospect:We should clean and reuse the pond.

- Vocal For Local Prospect:The makar Sankranti festival can be celebrated in grand way to bring tourism to this area
