BRIEF HISTORY:  

Zamindar Maydhar Singh had done the construction work of this pond.  One day a dream came to him, Lord Shiba appeared to him and said that if he builds a temple here, then his whole work will be completed. After that Zamindar built a temple and a pond, since then this pond has been here and their wish has been fulfilled, that’s why people come here and worship in this temple. After that the temple is famous.

SOCIO-RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE:

There is a temple where they organize the Shiva Ratri festival, the Kartik Purnima festival, and the Chhat puja festival is performed in the particular water bodies. Another puja festival Ghata Utalana was started in these ponds.

ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE:  

In this water body fish farming needs for livelihood. And the fish is sold in the local market. That money can be utilized to maintain some vegetables, grow flower trees and papaya trees growing around the water bodies.

What is the current condition? Any efforts to clean up or rejuvenate the waterbody?

At present, the condition of the pond is polluted. No work has been done for many years. A lot of soil has been washed away under the pond. There is a need to clean and to provide facilities for people to take a bath. That’s why to stop all facilities like bathing and farming. Fish farming is not happening properly in the same way, if we maintain cleaning the water bodies the pond will look properly as in previous. If we maintained cleaning pond, all people come for bathing, worship and many cultural activities. After that, we can highlight the area and temple.
